Anti-Fraud
Got an email from the widow of the Nigerian Oil Minister? Urgent notification from your bank with a strange link? Did you get a domain renewal notice from some company for your website domain and you had just renewed it recently?
Also don't trust emails just because they seem to come from an organization that you work with (bank, utility, etc).
Spoofed emails have become extremely sophisticated, looking exactly (or sometimes even better!) like the company that they allegedly represent.
Feel free to send such correspondence to me, if in doubt and I can investigate further. No personal or sensitive information need be sent to me in the transmission.
These are just some of the examples of things lurking out there on the web to attract you into a VERY bad deal.
This email is full of links that will NOT be saving you with your VA benefits. In fact there will be benefit to you at all. Most likely you'll be redirected to a page, cleverly designed to appear as the original.
ALWAYS check the link you are redirected to. If you did accidentally go to a phishing page and sign up, change your passwords immediately.

Recently I was contacted by this person wanting a website design by a phone text
The initial email was fairly well written. Standard contact mail.

Can you handle that for me ?. so i need you to check out this site but i need something more perfect than this if its possible .http://www.agroamerica.com... . the site would only be informational, so i need you to give me an estimate based on the site i gave you to check out, the estimate should include hosting and i want the same page as the site i gave you to check out and i have a private project consultant, he has the text content and the logos for the site.

Turned out this person wanted to pay a few extra thousand for a "consultant" who allegedly was holding their site content and logos.
This person wanted me to charge the entire amount to their credit card and then WIRE money to this "consultant".
They were not willing to share the "consultants" contact information.
Well no money was wired to their "consultant". NEVER EVER wire money to anyone you do not know and implicitly trust. There is almost no way to get it back!!
In fact I notified the authorities and Western Union of this fraud attempt.
No doubt, a very disappointed criminal sat on the other end waiting for money that was never going to arrive there!
This is a common scam affecting internet companies but a good example of an attempted fraud.
